My career choices have led me to be in a lot of meetings. As a consultant, I spend a lot of time listening, processing, and planning - and all of that winds up in the form of various text files. I (usually) understand my notes, but oftentimes I have to share the concepts with others, and I've learned that the vast majority of people are very visual; words generally aren't enough to get things to sink in.
Ziqurat is a tool that I originally made to quickly turn my notes into diagrams. I could paste my notes into a tool and the scripts would create a visual version that was nicer to look at. And it worked - in meetings, people had a much easier time translating my messages when they were color coded, categorized, and connected. Even I was able to envision and plan more effectively - it became more akin to the days when I had a piece of paper, and I'd put boxes and arrows to help try and organize my thoughts.
So ultimately, I decided to share this. I thought there might be others like me out there that work the same way and deal with the same sort of scenarios. It's probably not for everyone, but it works for me, so maybe it works for someone else too.
